Cemex Ventures invests in US digital worksite start-up

January 4, 2019

Cemex Ventures has invested in StructionSite, a US start-up whose 360-degree cameras are expected to save around 60% of the time required to calculate progress at a worksite.

Cemex Ventures says this investment streamlines a project's construction phase and obtains contextualised information to enable strategic decision-making as well as improve coordination between actors involved. The solution provides support on a web-based platform and mobile application and can be integrated with other tools to streamline the pace of information.

Additionally, Cemex Ventures expects to increase StructionSite’s presence in the US and help it explore international markets. StructionSite will have access to Cemex’s strategic network and global research and development, marketing and communication, and operating facilities across more than 50 countries.

The 360-degree cameras allow StructionSite to create digital models to provide data to its software which then digitises and documents worksite progress. Through computer vision and machine learning technology, StructionSite's software processes, analyses and creates images of the worksite to identify key elements and evaluate advancements.
