Federal investigators from the Mine Safety and Health Administration are investigating an explosion that took place on Saturday at a rock quarry in Jefferson County that injured two workers – according to a report by Fox2Now. The quarry is owned by Fred Weber and is based on VFW Drive in Festus Missouri.
The victims, according to Leading Publications, includes a 34-year-year-old Crystal City man who was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, where he was treated and released. The other individual was a 22-year-old man from Festus who sustained superficial injuries and refused treatment.
