FLSmidth launches ECS/UptimeGo to identify plant and equipment failures

May 10, 2019

FLSmidth has launched a downtime analysis solution which it says is designed to increase plant uptime by identifying the causes of plant and equipment failures.

Mikael Lindholm, FLSmidth chief digital officer, says “ECS/UptimeGo shows how FLSmidth uses digital technologies and practical experience to further enhance the productivity of cement and mining customers.”

ECS/UptimeGo comes with real-time dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) enable the measurement of the real impact of machine failures interrupting the production. In addition, it provides Pareto charts and the ability to monitor maintenance and reliability KPIs to give operators a more full picture of a downtime event and its causes, the company adds.

The solution can be integrated with existing process control systems and can be paired with FLSmidth ECS/ControlCenter for an automated process to gather all production stoppages. A graphic interface provides operators with information to fully document and analyse stoppages.

King Becerra, FLSmidth global product line manager, digitalisation, says: “This software is intuitive to use and will be quickly mastered by users. By allowing businesses to significantly reduce the frequency of unplanned downtime, ECS/UptimeGo delivers a productivity gain to operations that will cover for the cost of the software many times over.”
