Hitachi launches new hydraulic breaker range

April 8, 2020

Hitachi has introduced a range of new high-performance hydraulic breakers that are suitable for the full range of Hitachi ZX excavators from ZX10 up to ZX890. Quarry managers will find the new units are well-suited to breaking drilling and blasting operations.

The new breakers can be fitted and maintained by Hitachi factory-trained engineers which the company says ensures maximum productivity, high performance and low total cost of ownership.

Hitachi adds that the breakers are lightweight but extremely durable, with high impact energy due to the nitrogen-charged back head that transfers energy to where it is required most.

The slim design of the breakers is said to ensure easy accessibility in demolition and trench work while providing high levels of efficiency and productivity in quarrying applications.

Hitachi says that the breakers' top damper also reduces noise and vibration leading to a less intrusive and more environmentally friendly jobsite while reducing operator fatigue and machine wear and tear. The serviceable floating rod seal is designed to minimise dust intake and enable an extended lifetime. The mono-block cylinder with a replaceable cylinder liner has been specifically developed to reduce the number of parts in each breaker attachment.

The breakers' front head design includes a replaceable thrust bushing for extended service life and auto lube is fitted as standard on model FXJ125 onwards.
