Komatsu is re-branding its dealer and distributor locations in North America as “Komatsu” to reflect their inclusion in the company's global footprint.
Komatsu says the move will provide customers with access to additional equipment and parts inventory, as well as greater service and support resources.
Sales territories for the renamed branches remains the same, as do all equipment lines sold and services provided.
Rod Schrader, chairman of Komatsu’s North American operations, says: “More than just a name change, this decision shows Komatsu’s commitment to provide the best customer support in the territories where these branches do business.
"Ultimately, we want to make it an easy decision for customers to come back to us again and again for equipment, service and solutions.”
Grant Adams, former president of Komatsu Southwest, is to lead the unit as vice president and general manager of company-owned distribution.
In this role, he will manage profitability and continue to develop regional leadership teams.
The re-brand affects dealerships on the eastern seaboard such as Pine Bush Equipment, Midlantic Machinery, Komatsu Northeast and Edward Ehrbar.
It also includes those in New Mexico and Texas under the name Komatsu Southwest, as well as sites in Nevada, Montana, Utah and Wyoming under the Komatsu Equipment Company banner.
Komatsu America is the second-largest, fully-integrated manufacturer and supplier of construction equipment in North America.
It has a network of manufacturing plants and parts across the country and builds a wide range of its machines in the United States.
