Loadscan releases volume scanner for conveyor belts

November 1, 2018

Loadscan says its conveyor volume scanner (CVS) provides insightful reports on how much material is moving across a conveyor belt.

The CVS, an above belt lidar laser measurement system, is expected to allow users to understand inventory production rates in volumes and tonnes to accurately measure contract crushing quantities.

The system's onboard application programming interface allows users to set-up a list of jobs from their dispatch system which can then reported to the loader operators cab.

According to Loadscan, the CVS can run on belts from 400mm to 2,000mm wide and can be custom mounted for larger belts including deep belts to measure a greater quantity of product.

Carey West, owner and director of Loadscan, says the product complements the company’s LVS truck scanner.

“The development team have done a great job in making the system simple design so it is easy to install and the software interface is stacked with functionality and is super user friendly,” West adds.

Loadscan is known for manufacturing the original load volume scanner (LVS) system. The solution uses laser scanning technology and proprietary software to measure the volume of the material load in a truck or trailer bin.

The system allows users to measure actual volume as well as record a 3D colour profile of every load, the company adds.
