Magna Tyres is to launch a tyre in May which it says is designed for rigid dump trucks and can operate in the most demanding off-the-road (OTR) conditions.
The M-Rigid is suitable for modern rigid dump trucks (RDT) such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Terex and Hitachi, the company adds.
M-Rigid - a radial constructed 27.00R49 / 33.00R51 / 40.00R57 earthmover, with an E4 tread pattern - is expected to offer traction and durability required in severe surface mines.
According to Magna, the tread pattern design has weight reducing cut outs on the tread blocks and lugs to help reduce heat build-up and improve tyre life. Its circumferential groove improves steering control for enhanced heavy-load cornering performance and heat dissipation. Also, the interlocking shoulder blocks reduce excessive movement during concerning to reduce heat build-up while the optimised contact path improves tread life.
