The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) has applauded president Trump, house speaker Pelosi and senate minority leader Schumer on infrastructure talks.
In statement, NSSGA's president and CEO Michael W. Johnson, says: “I applaud the agreement of President Trump, House Speaker Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Schumer to have constructive dialogue in reaching an agreement on the size of the infrastructure package to be addressed.
“Establishing a scope of $2 trillion sets the table for addressing the critical aspects of providing the necessary funds to meet the need. For too long, America’s infrastructure has languished, and the only real hope is a bipartisan solution. The leadership shown by the President and Congressional Democratic leaders is the bipartisan step forward we need to ultimately deliver results. The next few weeks will be critical in establishing a consistent commitment to funding infrastructure investment over multiple years. A sustained funding approach is essential to truly fixing the transportation infrastructure on which we all depend.”
