OSHA to kick off Safe + Sound Week on 12 August

July 25, 2019

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will join US businesses and organisations to recognise workplace safety and health programmes during Safe + Sound Week, 12-18 August.

OSHA says the week-long event encourages employers to implement workplace safety initiatives and highlight workers’ contributions to improving safety.

Loren Sweatt, acting assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health at OSHA, says: “Leadership commitment matters and demonstrates workplace safety is a priority. Safe + Sound Week reminds employers that safety and health programs help businesses save money, eliminate injuries, and most importantly save lives.”

The initiative is open to organisations of any size or in any industry looking to show their commitment to safety for workers, customers, the public or supply chain partners.
