The Portland Cement Association (PCA) has applauded Nicole R. Nason on her confirmation as administrator of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) by a senate vote of 95 to one.
PCA endorsed Nason’s nomination in February, noting that her transportation policy background and leadership skills make her the ideal choice that can meet the demands being placed on the nation’s roads, bridges, and tunnels.
Mike Ireland, PCA president & CEO, says: “PCA congratulates Nicole Nason on her confirmation to be Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration. Her experience makes her an excellent choice to bring attention to the much needed investment in the nation’s transportation system.”
Nason was previously assistant secretary for administration at the State Department and served as administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration from 2006 to 2009. She has also been the US Department of Transportation’s assistant secretary for government affairs.
