Rogers Group is again seeking a limestone quarry near Americus, Indiana.
"Rogers Group is moving forward with our project and is looking forward to serving customers in the Greater Lafayette market," company spokesman Tom Kenley wrote in an email, JC-online reports.
The proposed location is the only place in Tippecanoe County where the desired resources are available, and the operation would generate $80,000 to $100,000 in tax revenue each year, Kenley wrote.
But local residents have long opposed the plan. In 2014 the Tippecanoe County commissioners approved an ordinance that blocked the quarry. The ordinance was overturned, but the quarry remains bogged down in legal proceedings, according to JC-online.
