RUBBLE MASTER has even more get up and GO!

April 12, 2019

With RM GO! NEXT, RUBBLE MASTER is bringing a range of innovations to its RM GO! range of compact mobile materials processing plants. The firm’s crushers and screens are now coordinated using a central control unit, optimising the overall performance of the machinery, while also making them even safer. The RM GO! NEXT models also have a fully integrated hybrid drive and numerous digital features.

In recent months, Linz, Austria-headquartered RM and Northern Ireland-based Maximus, acquired by RM in November 2018, have been working on the RM MSC8500e fully-electrified hybrid screen. Modelled on the tried-and-tested RM MSC8500M unit, all the hydraulic drives on the new unit have been replaced with electric ones. Only the crawler gear remains hydraulic. RM said it has channelled 30 years’ experience of electrical drive engineering into the MSC8500e hybrid screen. Components developed specifically for RM have been integrated into the new screen, helping to create a highly powerful and robust hybrid machine.

The RM MSC8500e screen can be powered through the new RM 120GO! next hybrid crusher. Both crusher and screen can operate from a single power source. The crusher’s high-power generator supplies the electricity without the need for an additional diesel engine. This reduces emissions and noise levels. The customer has more mobility and flexibility than ever before when using the equipment because, apart from the single source crushing, the hybrid screen can also be operated by a diesel engine or other external power sources. The screen and crusher communicate with each other without wires or cables. When the crusher’s discharge belts are started, the screen also starts automatically. If blockages or faults occur, the screen also stops automatically.

With the RM MSC8500e, a radio remote control system with display is used for the first time on an RM machine. This means that the operator need not enter the danger area around the machinery during operation.

The past year’s trading has been the best in RM’s history. Gerard Hanisch, RM chief executive officer, said, “We finished 2018 well above expectations. Our successful acquisition of the screen manufacturer Maximus was without doubt a contributory factor, but the ongoing development of our crushers and the principle of innovation that is part of everyday life at our company also ensure that orders keep coming in. Global demand for screens by RM and Maximus in the current year has grown, and output will be 80% higher than in 2018,” said Hanisch.
