Toromont Industries has named Richard Roy as an independent director, expanding the Canadian firm’s board of directors to nine members.
Toromont’s equipment group is a Caterpillar dealership which spans the Canadian provinces of Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Québec, Ontario and Manitoba in addition to most of the territory of Nunavut.
Robert M. Ogilvie, chair of Toromont, says Roy brings a wealth of experience and understanding of the Québec business environment.
Roy is a business and financial executive. He sits on the board of directors of Uni-Select, a distributor of automotive replacement parts, equipment, tools and accessories in North America, and has also served as its president and chief executive officer.
Additionally, he is on the board of directors and is the chair of the Audit Committee of Dollarama and serves on the board of directors of GDI Integrated Facility Services.
