Northern Ireland-based 6702 Ballyvesey Holdings has purchased 6703 Plantlink, the Merseyside-based, north-west England dealer for the 411 Doosan Heavy range of construction plant and equipment.

Plantlink, based in Rainford, holds the regional distributorship for the Doosan Heavy range including crawler and wheeled excavators, wheeled loaders, articulated dump trucks, heavy duty telehandlers and attachments to customers across north-west England, North Wales, County Lancashire, County Cheshire and Merseyside.

Following the purchase by Ballyvesey, the majority of the staff at Plantlink including sales manager, Chris Proctor, will remain with the business.  Co-owner of Plantlink, J J Hyung, who was previously a former UK managing director for Doosan and who founded Plantlink in 2006, will be leaving the business.

Dermot Cunnie, general manager of Ballyvesey’s construction equipment division, said: “We are delighted that Chris and his colleagues at Rainford have transferred over and we are already benefiting from their wealth of knowledge and experience.  With this acquisition we have added the Doosan Heavy line of equipment to the 4772 Bobcat range sold by our trading subsidiary, Norwest Plant, which was appointed as the authorised Bobcat dealer for the region earlier this year. The acquisition of Plantlink also adds to our existing Doosan and Bobcat dealerships at Montana Plant in Ireland and Scotia Plant in Scotland.”
