Brazil’s 5796 M&T Expo 2018, Latin America’s largest construction and mining equipment exhibition, has been postponed due to a national truck drivers’ strike. The strike is currently blocking main highways and affecting the majority of essential services. The Expo’s 10th staging had been scheduled to take place 5-8 June at the São Paulo Expo Centre.

Event organisers Messe Muenchen do Brasil and 5655 Messe München, together with the Brazilian Association of Technology for Construction and Mining (Sobratema), said the show was being postponed following a request by the majority of exhibiting machinery manufacturers.

An exhibition organisers’ statement added: “This decision aims to ensure the safety of all exhibitors, suppliers, service providers and visitors to the trade fair as well as the maintenance of the assets and economic interests of all those involved with the event.”

The new date of M&T Expo will be announced soon.
