643 Cemex has reaffirmed its continued commitment to its subsidiary 6521 Neoris, a global business and IT consulting company.

Neoris grew out of the solutions it created for Cemex, and is said to be one of the few cases where a company, derived from the spin-off of the IT department of a large industrial organisation, has become successful as an independent player in the market, creating long-term value for its stakeholders.

“Neoris has delivered great value for Cemex and other large multi-nationals, and it will continue contributing in our future development,” says Fernando Gonzalez, executive vice president of finance and administration of Cemex.

Recently, Cemex unveiled a ten-year strategic agreement in which 6522 IBM will deliver business process and information technology services, an agreement  that is expected to generate Cemex savings of close to US$1 billion (€795 million) during the life of the contract. It does not overlap with the IT consulting, application development, and implementation services that Neoris provides to Cemex.

Cemex says it will continue to rely on Neoris as a business and IT services provider and will support its efforts to innovate, design, and deploy solutions, using its global delivery model and IT services. Neoris will further remain a key partner of Cemex in IT implementation and SAP integration projects.
