"This is great news for MinTrain and our commitment to promoting safe and competent driving practices," said a spokesperson for the UK-based innovative and award-winning training provider of expert training specifically designed for the quarrying, ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and associated minerals sectors.

Recently rebranded to the SVCA Driver & Plant Skills Card, the SVCA currently has six categories under the Driver Skills Card, including:

• Mixer
• Tipper
• Volumetric
• Tanker
• Skip Loader
• 4x4 Utility Vehicle

Since these vehicles are commonly used in construction projects in the UK, it's important to ensure that drivers are competent to improve standards. This can also be a factor in meeting driver competency requirements during procurement.

MinTrain director Mark Cowan explained: "After recently becoming a CLOCS Delivery Partner, it was great to hear the news of SVCA reapproval and demonstrates our commitment to support CLOCS.

"Accompanied by the accreditation from industry awarding body EMPI Awards and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) for Mixers, the role of CLOCS as part of what we do is an essential element as we strive to improve standards across the construction and minerals sectors.

"Covering all vehicle types across our sectors continues with the recently added Tanker category, which is mapped to the current suite of national Occupational Standards (NOS) for Tankers.

"We also offer a 15% discount to CLOCS Champions on the SVCA and other training, assessment, and consultancy services to help support in the current financial situation we are all experiencing."

Andy Brooke, CLOCS programme director, said: "We have been working with Mark and the MinTrain team for a few years now and continue to be impressed by their drive and passion in everything they do. Making our roads safer is their primary focus in all activities, and we're delighted to have had Mark speak to the CLOCS community at a Member Meeting and at one of our Online Safety Forums, sharing his knowledge and insights to help educate and inform our members. As a founding Delivery Partner, we look forward to continuing our collaboration and seeing what the future brings."

MinTrain is always looking for new ways to innovate and expand its offerings to include vehicles that fit within the SVCA Driver Skills Card. If you have a vehicle that might fit this category, the company would be happy to discuss it further—email [email protected] for more information.
