Green award for Lafarge Readymix

Environmental innovation and efforts to extend eco-friendly practice have helped Lafarge Readmix’s division in the UK win an International Green Hero. The company was presented with the award by The Green Organisation in recognition of the environmental benefits of the company’s Exentsia flooring product range, which has 20% lower CO2 emissions than other similar products.

Environmental innovation and efforts to extend eco-friendly practice have helped 725 Lafarge Readmix’s division in the UK win an International Green Hero. The company was presented with the award by 4437 The Green Organisation in recognition of the environmental benefits of the company’s Exentsia flooring product range, which has 20% lower CO2 emissions than other similar products.

Jeremy Greenwood, managing director, Readymix, a unit of Lafarge Aggregates & Concrete UK, was presented with the wall-shield by wind-up radio inventor Trevor Bayliss. “This is a true honour,” said Greenwood. “Being recognised by The Green Organisation with Green Hero status is outstanding and just goes to show that all the hard work of our employees has paid off.

“I am so proud of each and every member of the business for all their efforts in extremely challenging times. Innovation has always been at the heart of Lafarge’s philosophy and we take our responsibility to reduce our impact on the environment extremely seriously. Creating products such as Extensia is one way in which we can help fulfil both those commitments.”
