Holcim appoints new manager

Holcim has announced that it has promoted Urs Fankhauser to the post of as area manager for Eastern and South Eastern Europe. Fankhauser was previously regional technical director for Eastern Europe and joined Holcim in 1991 as a process performance engineer.

680 Holcim has announced that it has promoted Urs Fankhauser to the post of as area manager for Eastern and South Eastern Europe. Fankhauser was previously regional technical director for Eastern Europe and joined Holcim in 1991 as a process performance engineer.

In his new role, Fankhauser will report directly to executive committee member Urs Böhlen who Fankhauser has previously reported to as an assistant. Swiss-born Fankhauser completed a degree in mechanical engineering and worked at the Institute for "Konstruktion und Bauweisen" of the 4570 ETH Zurich before joining Holcim. After holding several managerial roles abroad and being an assistant to Böhlen, he was appointed general manager of Holcim Croatia in 2002 and took over his current role as regional technical director Eastern Europe in 2004.
