Hyundai appoints Kong as new chief operating officer

429 Hyundai Heavy Industries has appointed K.Y. Kong as chief operating officer of the Hyundai Construction Equipment division.

Kong has been with Hyundai for 30-years and has held a number of positions, including head of global forklift sales and head of production. He “will continue with maximising operational excellence in both development and production”, statement from Hyundai said.

Kong has succeeded S.G. Rhee, who recently retired. Rhee “has steered the company through challenging times amid a recessive economy in global markets like Brazil, Russia, China and many others”.
