Lagan acquires Healy

Breedon has entered into a conditional agreement to acquire Lagan Group (Holdings), a leading construction materials business based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, for a cash consideration of £455 million (€530 million) on a cash- and debt-free basis. Rapid International recently supplied Northern Ireland-based Lagan Tile with a new RP1000 Rapid Planetary Concrete Mixer to support the busy firm’s 24 hour production schedule. The Rapid mixer was also purchased due to its high capacity and increased levels of energy efficiency. It has been installed in Lagan Tile’s roof tile production plant located in Lisburn, County Antrim.

Lemminkäinen has expanded its road construction business with the acquisition of a stake in fellow Finnish company Asfalt Remix. Lemminkäinen has bought a 75% share of the business with an option to acquire the remaining shareholding at a later date. Asfalt Remix specialises in the cold milling of asphalt pavements and Lemminkäinen has said that the acquisition fits with its strategy to expand its Nordic infrastructure construction business. No financial details of the deal have been released.
