Understanding the importance of coaching and mentoring to enhance employees’ skills is the focus of this month's ‘Lunch & Learn’ webinar from the UK’s
Julian Smallshaw is Head of Education and Standards at IQ and presents the online webinar on Thursday 27 June, 12.30pm-1pm. He will talk about effective development approaches to enhance employees' skills, knowledge and work performance through coaching and mentoring.
Smallshaw says: “The core of any organisation is its workplace culture. Creating and nurturing the right environment reduces the potential for a fragmented organisation and builds on the strengths of its greatest asset – its people.
“To create a coaching and mentoring culture, organisations must ensure that people are equipped to give and receive more regular feedback. Importantly, that culture is one in which coaching, mentoring and other forms of continuous feedback can thrive.”
James Thorne is IQ’s CEO. He adds: “For the past quarter, our communications with members have been centred around the importance of leadership. The theme continues in this month’s IQ Academy webinar. Julian focuses on how to develop a positive workplace culture through coaching and mentoring.”
Smallshaw has been undertaking the development and promotion of world-class, tailored education and training programmes with the Institute of Quarrying since 2008, creating bespoke blended training packages for the extractives industry. Carrying with him a wealth of knowledge from his extensive career in operational quarry management and extractives operations, from hard rock to sand and gravel.
