MPQC holds first major event

THE Mineral Products Qualifications Council (MPQC) is holding its inaugural ‘BIG Event’ on Thursday 29 November. THE 6154 Mineral Products Qualifications Council (MPQC) is holding its inaugural ‘BIG Event’ on Thursday 29 November.

MPQC is the organisation that oversees standards, training and skills for the quarrying, mining, construction and related industries in the UK.

The 'BIG Event' will take place at MP House, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire from 4pm to 7pm.

Attractions on the day will include the MQPC's new Mobile Plant Simulators which are designed to benefit its members' businesses through training, improved fuel-efficient operation, and promotion of their business.

The MPQC will also promote its Minerals Matter project which aims to attract people into the sector.

There will also be: taster sessions of new MPQC courses; the new range of IEMA environmental courses; the Apprenticeship Surgery where representatives from MP Skills and the University of Derby will answer levy and apprenticeship questions; the 2904 Institute of Quarrying’s Skills Wheel which will for the first time features othe MPQC's MP Skills courses; the chance to experience a blast using the EPC augmented reality Virtual Blast.

Guest exhibitors will include The Institute of Quarry, EPC, and the University of Derby with more to follow.
