The association says PLC, engineered with more limestone, performs comparably to Type I portland cement with up to 10% less greenhouse gas emissions.

PCA CEO Mike Ireland says: “This initiative will help educate engineers and other specifiers on how PLC can easily be incorporated into numerous projects.”

As part of the initiative, the PCA has launched a microsite covering PLC case studies, applications, frequently asked questions and the status of acceptance in the US and around the world.

Additionally, the website features a PLC calculator that allows builders, architects and designers to input building size or pavement length to see how much PLC can reduce a project’s overall carbon footprint.
