RSSThe CQMS’17 construction and quarrying exhibition in Ireland attracted 7,809 visitors over its two days – up more than 3,500 on the 2015 event.

The show held 21-22 April 2017 at Molloy’s Quarry near Tullamore, Co. Offaly drew a significant proportion of Ireland’s construction and quarry industry on Friday’s Trade Day, and large crowds from the trade and the general public on the Saturday.

Of the 7,809 visitors over the show’s two days, 1,668 were trade visitors and 6,141 paid at the gate. A total of 200 exhibitors were at the show, 80 more than at the 2015 event.

Many exhibitors complemented the organisation of the show saying it was a very well run, highly professional event with over €90 million worth of equipment on show from the major plant dealers. Many CQMS’17 visitors are now said to be looking at making plant purchases on the basis of what they saw and the contacts they made at the exhibition.

Michael McHale, managing director at McHale Plant Sales, said: “CQMS rivals the best of its kind internationally. It was a resounding success. It is a must-attend event for everyone who has anything to do with quarrying and construction. There was serious interest shown by those attending with hardly a track-kicker amongst them.”

Denis Murray, managing director ECI JCB, said: “It was a very successful show. The organisers made a great effort, it was very well run and organised. All the exhibitors put their best foot forward and our ‘Dancing Diggers’ proved to be a big attraction.”
