From the assessment body The Clear Company, the Clear Assured Bronze Standard is awarded to businesses that can demonstrate inclusivity and diversity across all policies and processes. It also marks a move beyond compliance towards a cultural shift.
Louise Houston, head of inclusion and diversity for Tarmac, said: “We’re proud to have reached the high standards required for the Bronze Standard. The achievement is an acknowledgement of the efforts of all our employees and leaders, underpinned by an ambition to foster and celebrate a fair and supportive culture that promotes opportunities for all – where everyone feels proud to be themselves.
“This independent verification shows that we’re heading in the right direction, with the foundations in place for us to build upon.”
Head of Clear Assured, Anna Mäkinen, added: “Committing to the Clear Assured Standard requires a real focus to work and think differently. Clear Assured is a rigorous standard based on continuous improvement; by reaching Bronze Standard Tarmac have already demonstrated their ability to instigate change and develop a culture where inclusion and diversity is business as usual.”
Tarmac has over 150 years of experience and directly employs around 7,000 people across a nationwide network of over 400 sites.
