Reflecting its commitment to supporting the local community, 1707 Aggregate Industries’ Garside Sands plant in county Bedfordshire, England, is sponsoring the upcoming Greensand Country Festival.

Due to take place from 26 May to 3 June, the 9-day festival is the first of its kind for the much loved Greensand Country area, a unique stretch of countryside that runs from Leighton Buzzard to Gamlingay, and comprises of the 35-mile Greensand Ridge and the Flit Valley.

To celebrate the incredible beauty and cultural heritage of the landscape, the festival will host a compelling programme of almost 75 events, activities, talks and exhibitions, designed to bring the local community together and encourage them to explore and enjoy the countryside.

This includes guided walks, have-a-go wilderness crafts, family wildlife activities and open-air theatre performances, as well as 4x4 adventure challenges, to name just a few.

The sponsorship by Garside Sands, a specialist division of leading building materials supplier Aggregate Industries, that is located in the heart of Leighton Buzzard, is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to support the local environment and communities in which it operates.

Tom Wise, general manager at Garside Sands, Aggregate Industries, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be involved in the first ever Greensand Country Festival. With a well-established presence in the Leighton Buzzard area, we at Garside Sands believe it is vitally important to play an active role in supporting our local community and environment. As such, we hope the festival is a roaring success and that everyone enjoys the varied programme of events on offer.”

Claire Poulton, programme manager at the Greensand Country Landscape Partnership, said: “The Greensand Country Festival is an exciting step forward in promoting the unique history, wildlife and culture of the landscape and we hope it will encourage people to visit and enjoy the area. We’d like to thanks Aggregate Industries for their sponsorship as without the exceptional support of local businesses and attractions, we would not have been able to make the festival a reality.”
