Over 70 people from 21 countries attended a McCloskey event demonstrating its crushing, screening and stacking equipment.

The multi-spread demo day was held at King Bros Quarry in County Armagh, Northern Ireland on Thursday 1 November.

The Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) is attending the United Nations’ international COP24 climate change conference in Poland.

The GCCA says the meeting represents its first attendance at international climate negotiations, under the umbrella of its recent partnership with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Metso has closed the acquisition of the UK-based combustion solutions and technology provider Kiln Flame Systems (KFS).

Finland-based quarrying and mining equipment maker Metso says the purchase of KFS will extend its pyro processing portfolio and capabilities. Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Retread tyre suppliers Marangoni and Borrachas Vipal have announced a strategic partnership agreement aimed at increasing the synergies and productivity, strengthening the industrial and commercial organisation of both groups.

The two companies claim the new partnership will lead to "the creation of the largest global independent player in the tyre retreading sector."
