HeidelbergCement has rebranded as Heidelberg Materials. The Heidelberg, Germany-based company says the new brand identity underlines its pioneering role on the path to carbon neutrality and digitalisation in the building materials industry.

Following customer requests, CEMEX has added a zero-carbon lightweight concrete block and common brick to its range.

Combined with the existing ReadyBlock Zero dense block, this launch enables customers to meet the concrete block requirements for housing and commercial developments using solely CarbonNeutral products. CEMEX remains the only UK supplier to offer a fully net zero concrete block option.

American construction input prices decreased 1.4% in August compared to the previous month, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of US Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index data. Nonresidential construction input prices also fell 1.4% for the month.

The World Cement Association (WCA) has announced the first line-up of speakers for its 5th annual conference and exhibition, which will take place from 25th – 28th September 2022, at the Emirates Towers, Dubai, UAE. 

Holcim has closed the US$6.4 billion sale of its business in India, comprising its full stakes in Ambuja Cement, to the Adani Group.

This transaction strengthens Holcim’s balance sheet and enables the company to continue its acquisition strategy, building on recent investments of over CHF 5 billion ($5.2bn) in Solutions & Products.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) reports that its Construction Backlog Indicator remained unchanged at 8.7 months in August, according to an ABC member survey conducted Aug. 22 to Sept. 7. The reading is a full month higher than in August 2021.
