Authorities in London have started a new scheme designed to remove the most dangerous Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) from the UK capital's streets.

She will be responsible for all human resources related issues for the company, including its extensive global network of subsidiary companies.

Pyykkinen brings extensive experience to her new position, having spent 25 years in a variety of HR roles in the Kone Group, a Finnish company that manufactures elevators, moving staircases/escalators and doors.

Sandvik has signed an agreement to divest the majority (70%) of its Varel Drilling and Completions business for SEK900mn (US$90m).

Attachment manufacturer Allu has launched a rental division in its home market of Finland.

The company says the recent expansion will provide Finnish customers with the opportunity to rent a Transformer on a short term basis, prior to making a possible purchase.

Allu manufactures the Transformer range of hydraulic attachments for wheeled loaders, excavators and skid steers, and the Processor mixer attachment for excavators.

FLSmidth has agreed a five-year deal to supply fixed equipment to global mining and metals group Rio Tinto.

The fixed-term global framework agreement (GFA) involves FLSmidth supplying mineral processing and material handling technologies, spare parts, consumables, and maintenance, consultancy and professional services.

Liebherr look set to post healthy turnover growth in full-year 2019, but the global construction equipment giant’s management warn that 2020 is set to be tougher.

The Swedish mining, quarrying and metal cutting equipment group said that adjusted operating profit remained largely stable year-on-year and amounted to SEK4.617bn (€430mn) in Q3 this year, compared with SEK4.587bn (€427mn) in Q3 2018.
