Ashaka Cement is planning to invest over NGN 100 billion (€460.88 million/US$617.1 million) to build a 2.5 million tonnes/year cement plant; build a coal-fired power plant and upgrade an existing cement facility to 1.5 million tonnes/year.
United Cement Company of Nigeria will invest NGN 84 billion to double cement capacity from 2.5 million tonnes to 5 million tonnes/year by 2016 and BUA International has signed a deal to spend $500 million (€373.43 million) to build a new cement plant with capacity of 2.5 millin tonnes in Okpella.
7635 Dangote Cement is aiming to reach 29 million tonnes/year capacity by the end of August 2014 and it plans to add 6 million tonnes/year by adding new production lines at its Obese plant.
725 Lafarge Group intends to form Lafarge Africa by consolidating businesses in South Africa and Nigeria and this is expected to add 12 million tonnes to Nigeria's cement capacity.
