FLSmidth signs supply MoU with PT ANTAM of Indonesia

7451 FLSmidth has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT ANTAM, a diversified mining and metals company headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia, to supply design, testing and services for developing mining projects in and around Indonesia.

The MoU was signed by Tato Miraza, ANTAM’s president director and Thomas Schulz, FLSmidth group CEO.

The MoU details that within this newly-created relationship, subject to the prevailing regulations and good corporate governance as well as the corporate policies of each ANTAM and FLSmidth.

FLSmidth will assist in the development of plant designs, provide pilot testing, support the integration of plants with other technologies, facilitate co-engineering, direct ways in which to optimize costs, provide operation and maintenance services as well as training services, and offer evaluation services for existing facilities.

This MoU is a result of several meetings in Jakarta between key members of both FLSmidth and ANTAM with the signing taking place in FLSmidth’s Bethlehem offices with simultaneous video conference of Thomas Schulz participating from Copenhagen.

“This is a significant agreement as we work with ANTAM to provide our expertise and services to a broad range of processes including ferro-nickel, gold, alumina, copper and cement,” says Schulz.

“These are some of the industries that FLSmidth has vast experience working with at mine sites and cement plants throughout the world.”

Tato Miraza, said: “ANTAM’s cooperation with FLSmidth will ensure the improvement of the operations of our processing plants as efficiency and improved productivity is very critical in minerals processing operations.”

FLSmidth’s presence in Indonesia dates back to 1910 with the supply of a production line for an Indonesian cement plant. Since that time, FLSmidth has built long-standing relationships in the area completing multiple beneficial projects for its local customers including the supply of multiple pyro-processing lines for the ferro-nickel industry beginning in the 1970s; many additional cement projects, and more recently, orders for material handling systems.

Since 1994, FLSmidth personnel have serviced the region from their offices located in Jakarta and are currently registered under the legal entity, PT FLSmidth Indonesia.
