The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has reported that the sales of cement increased to a total of 8.197 million tonnes in the July-October 2014 period, recording an 8.87% increase year-on-year.
For the period under review, cement exports saw a 4.47% decrease year-on-year to a total of 2.79 million tonnes.
In the July-October 2014 period, cement sales for domestic market by manufacturers in the north and south region saw a 10.4% increase to a total of 6.872 million tonnes and 1.4% increase to 1.307 million tonnes respectively.
Cement exports in the same period for the north and south region saw a 12.23% decrease to 1.742 million tonnes and 12.5% increase to 1.048 million tonnes respectively.
For October 2014, cement dispatches to domestic markets saw an increase from 1.973million tonnes in October 2013 to 2.094 million tonnes, while cement exports also saw an increase to 729,000 tonnes from 676,000 tonnes in the same month in 2013.
For the month under review, APCMA reported a 6.57% increase in total sales to 2.823 million tonnes, from 2.649 million tonnes in October 2013.
