In the period January-October 2014, Italian exports of unhewn, processed and semi-finished materials to the USA rose in value from €298.1 million to €303.2 million, a 1.7% increase compared to the same period in 2013.

This emerges from Istat data analysed by the 6611 Marmomacc Observatory, and follows exhibits by Italian and international companies at the recent TISE-StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas (the reference event in North America for the natural stone sector, floorings, industrial surfaces and ceramics) held in Las Vegas, USA.

Veronafiere, and its partnership with the organiser, Hanley Wood (now acquired by Informa Group), and on the strength of its international Marmomacc brand accompanied a group of 17 companies to Las Vegas from Italy, India, Portugal, Turkey and Morocco.

Marmomacc, the largest exhibition in the world dedicated to the natural stone sector, will be held in Verona, Italy, from 30 September-3 October, 2015.

“Veronafiere, through the global network of appointments focusing on Marmomacc, which this year achieves the milestone of 50 editions, confirms its status as the best partner for accompanying marble-stone industry business abroad,” says Ettore Riello president of Veronafiere.

“The United States is still a fundamental and strategic landmark: it is the second outlet market for Italian products and the gateway to emerging markets for stone, such as Mexico where Italian exports grew by 24% in the first ten months of 2014.”

The 600m² Veronafiere International Pavilion, set up in collaboration with Confindustria Marmomacchine, showcased a selection of marbles and granites, stone processing machinery, surface protection and treatment products, cutting, honing and polishing tools.

In addition to the b2b opportunities, professional training and updating of architects and designers was again an integral part of the three days in Las vegas with the course, Designing with Natural Stone, being organised by the Marmomacc Stone Academy with a focus this year on the sustainable use of stone and marble.
