China's building solutions company, Boleyn Magic Wall Panel (BMWP) is planning to set up a KES 3 billion (€30.13 million/US$32.45 million) precast concrete factory in Kitengela, Kenya.

It is part of its strategy to capitalise on the growing Kenyan property industry by providing a building solution that help reduce the cost of construction.

The technology reduces labour and construction by up to 60%, while also lowering the overall capital investments by 4%.

Furthermore, the precast concrete will also be of assured quality as it is produced in a controlled environment.

Cost of homes can also be reduced by around 20-30%, which will allow for the construction of affordable housing in Kenya.

The factory is expected to create some 500 employment opportunities by the end of 2015 and produce around 20,000 housing units/year.

Products from the factory are scheduled to be launched in May 2015. BMWP has already recruited and trained some 100 locals for its precast concrete factory.
