Lafarge Republic keeps Mindanao, Philippines, assets

Following the sale of its Star terminal at the Harbour Centre in Manila and Lafarge Republic Aggregates (LRAI) for almost PHP 3 billion (€59.95 million/US$65.84 million), cement, marble, and building materials manufacturer Lafarge Republic has chosen to keep its Mindanao assets in the Philippines. Following the sale of its Star terminal at the Harbour Centre in Manila and 725 Lafarge Republic Aggregates (LRAI) for almost PHP 3 billion (€59.95 million/US$65.84 million), cement, marble, and building materials manufacturer Lafarge Republic has chosen to keep its Mindanao assets in the Philippines.

The Star Terminal will be bought by cement and aggregates manufacturer 680 Holcim Philippines for PHP 410 million, while Lafarge Republic's 60% interest in LRAI will be purchased for PHP 1.588 billion.

The offer to purchase both the terminal and aggregates business has been accepted by Lafarge Republic, and an agreement has been signed by Lafarge Republic with Holcim and Holcim Mining Development.
