Marmomacc 50th edition toasts attendee numbers rise

The 50th edition of Marmomacc, the largest exhibition in the world dedicated to natural stone business and culture, attracted 67,000 specialist operators - 3% more than visitors at last year's show. International attendance was also up to 57% (+9) from 150 countries, five more than in 2014.

RSSThe 50th edition of 6611 Marmomacc, the largest exhibition in the world dedicated to natural stone business and culture, attracted 67,000 specialist operators - 3% more than visitors at last year's show. International attendance was also up to 57% (+9) from 150 countries, five more than in 2014.

The Veronafiere, Verona, Italy-based show confirmed its status as the world centre for marble, granite, natural stone, machinery and processing technologies, thanks to the presence of 1,524 companies (occupying a show area of more than 77,000m²), including 936 from 55 countries - with debuts by Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cameroon, Venezuela and Georgia. Organised delegations were welcomed from 55 States - 11 more than the last edition of Marmomacc.

In keeping with its traditions as a venue promoting trade in natural stone, Marmomacc set a new record for the number of buyers arriving from Europe (Germany and United Kingdom in particular, followed by Spain and France). There was also a significant increase in visitors from the United States, Canada, India and Australia, as well as Israel, Poland and Iran.

For the second year in a row, the 30 September – 3 October show was held in conjunction with Abitare il Tempo, Veronafiere's event dedicated to contract, design and interior decor sectors.

The next Marmomacc edition is scheduled to take place 28 September - 1 October 2016.
