The cement industry of Pakistan saw a 11.12% year-on-year rise in local sales in the first quarter of the 2015/2016 financial year.
In September 2015 alone cement sales to local markets rose 2.6% year-on-year to 2.48 million tonnes from 2.42 million tons.
Total cement dispatches, however, fell 6.34% year-on-year to 2.95 million tonnes from 3.15 million tonnes.
In the same month, local consumption in the north of Pakistan increased to 2.084 million tonnes from 1.99 million tonnes in the previous corresponding period, but cement dispatches in the south fell to 399,581tonnes from 431,133tonnes.
