Algeria: SSC’s call to tender for cement plant

Work should begin on a cement plant in Ben-Zireg, some 40km from Bechar in Algeria, in 2016. A national and international invitation to tender has been issued, following the termination of the previous contract with a Chinese company. The cement plant will be built on behalf of Société Saoura Ciment (SSC), a subsidiary of Groupe public industriel des ciments d'Algérie (GICA). The cement plant should be operational in 2019 and will see the creation of 500-600 jobs directly and as many indirectly.

Work should begin on a cement plant in Ben-Zireg, some 40km from Bechar in Algeria, in 2016.

A national and international invitation to tender has been issued, following the termination of the previous contract with a Chinese company.

The cement plant will be built on behalf of Société Saoura Ciment (SSC), a subsidiary of Groupe public industriel des ciments d'Algérie (GICA).

The cement plant should be operational in 2019 and will see the creation of 500-600 jobs directly and as many indirectly.

The cost of the plant has not been disclosed.
