Pakistan: Kohat Cement 54% earnings increase for first-half fiscal 2016

Pakistan-based Kohat Cement (KOHC) has registered a 54% increase in its year-on-year earnings to PKR 2.1 billion (€18.49 million/US$20.02 million) for the first half of fiscal 2016 from PKR 1.4 billion. On a quarterly basis, earnings growth was driven by an 18% increase in sales revenue. Overall, the higher margins are attributed to the increase in domestic demand, lower tax rate, and significant decline in power and fuel costs.
