Having worked in the UK Aggregates, Cement, Ready-Mixed Concrete and Cement Replacements Industry for nearly 55 years, Philip Jones has decided to hang up his PPE and retire a few weeks before his 70th Birthday in August 2016.

A much acclaimed and accomplished after dinner speaker, Jones has entertained at industry conferences and functions in many parts of the World for more than 40 years, he has also decided that the time is right to put away his now famous, and well worn, portable lectern and take a well-earned rest.

Jones is currently the general manager of the Aggregates division of the 6604 Tudor Griffiths Group in the UK, where he has spent the past 22 years. Before that he was with Castle Cement, now called 1343 Hanson Cement (part of the Heidelberg Group), Frodingham Cement, now called 3581 Francis Flower, Steetley Denniff, and the Cape Group of Companies.

A longstanding Council Member of the UK 2897 Mineral Products Association (MPA), Jones has served on many Industry bodies in the past 55 years. He is looking forward to meeting up with a lot of MPA members and industry friends at the bi-annual 427 Hillhead quarry show in Buxton, UK, in June this year.
