Taiwan: Taiwan Cement sales down 20.8% year-on-year in 2015

Taiwanese cement producer Taiwan Cement Corp saw its 2015 year-on-year sales fall 20.8% to TWD 93.68 billion (US$2.89 billion), while the company’s net income dropped by 46.7% to TWD 5.78 billion ($178.67 million). Taiwanese cement producer Taiwan Cement Corp saw its 2015 year-on-year sales fall 20.8% to TWD 93.68 billion (US$2.89 billion), while the company’s net income dropped by 46.7% to TWD 5.78 billion ($178.67 million).

During October-December 2015, revenue and net income of the firm fell by 17% and 31.3% to TWD 24.6 billion ($760.45 million) and TWD 1.78 billion ($55.02 million) respectively, as compared to October-December 2014.

In January-March 2016, the company's revenue stood at TWD 17.73 billion ($548.08 million), decreasing by 17.3% year-on-year. The firm's shipments to China hiked by almost 18% to 10.8 million tonnes during the three-month period.

On 13 April 2016, the company said that it aims to see its business to improve in July-December 2016.
