Saudi Arabia’s cement sales drop

According to Al Rajhi Capital of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia has posted a 6% year-on-year drop in its cement sales in April 2016 to 5.4 million tonnes. City and Al Jouf Cement are reported to have seen the highest rise in sales in the month under review, with more than 30% and 29% year-on-year, respectively. According to Al Rajhi Capital of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia has posted a 6% year-on-year drop in its cement sales in April 2016 to 5.4 million tonnes.

City and Al Jouf Cement are reported to have seen the highest rise in sales in the month under review, with more than 30% and 29% year-on-year, respectively.

Najran Cement dispatches declined sharply by 38%, and Hail dispatches decreased by 25%.

Al Rajhi Capital, in its report, said that April 2016 dispatches showed strong demand in Saudi Arabia's central region, as compared to weak demand in the Southern and Western regions.

Total inventory increased 4% year-on-year to 21.9 million tonnes.

The country has recorded a 2% year-on-year decline in its cement production in the month under review to 5.6 million tonnes.
