PRECAST2016, the UK’s largest precast concrete event, sponsored by 3599 Trimble Tekla and 868 Tarmac, was a great success, say the organisers.

Over 60 exhibitors showcased their latest products and services in the industry.

The event included a variety of seminars, live demonstrations, and opportunities to network with industry professionals throughout the day.

Over 400 delegates attended the event, which included up-to-date briefings on key topics including Building Information Modelling (BIM); the proposed High Speed 2 rail link from London; RCS; legal guidelines; acoustic performance, and economic outlook presented by guest experts.

Continuing its initiatives with members to improve loading safety, 7331 Wincanton logistics company held a series of informative live demonstrations. Mentor Training was also involved in outdoor workshops, illustrating the safe use of prefabricated towers.

Speed networking sessions with manufacturers were immensely popular, with suppliers in the industry given the opportunity to connect with potential new customers.

The 1829 British Precast annual meeting also took place with Andy Dix being thanked for three year’s service as president and Matthew Clay of Forterra welcomed as the new president.

“We had excellent speakers and a wide range of exhibitors, and I am very appreciative of their contribution to making PRECAST2016 such a success,” says Andrew Minson, executive director of British Precast.

“The day was a testament to the value of being part of British Precast and the health of the precast and masonry sector.”

British Precast, part of The 2897 Mineral Products Association (MPA), is the trade association for precast concrete manufacturers and members of the supply chain.
