The contracting division of 1707 Aggregate Industries UK has been awarded the gold Investors in People (IiP) standard, the highest accolade awarded to participating employers.

The company says that as one of the first construction companies to gain IiP gold status, the team was praised by assessors for its embedded culture of training, coaching and “inspirational” leadership.

“This is a fantastic achievement and we are proud to be recognised externally as an outstanding place to work,” says Paddy Murphy, managing director of Aggregate Industries Contracting.

“Our overarching safety values drive everything we do. Incorporating these values into our daily work has helped to make them an integral part of our culture, which has been key to our current and future success and the success of our customers.”

Investors in People is a national quality standard which defines good practice for improving performance and realising objectives through the management and development of their people.

With more than 400 employees, Aggregate Industries Contracting has over 80 years’ experience in highways maintenance, road surfacing and full pavement construction including hydraulically bound and cementitious solutions (SiteBatch).

Around 15,000 organisations across 75 countries hold IiP accreditation but only 3% of these have achieved the gold standard, which identifies “world-class best practice.”
