The last of a trio of brothers, dubbed the Three Musketeers, has retired from Morley, county West Yorkshire, England-based quarry and recycling company Mone Bros.

John Oakes, who together with recently retired brothers Geoff and Sav, had all been driving tipper trucks for a combined total of over 115 years, was given a send-off by colleagues at the company’s headquarters, with his brothers in attendance.

“John and his brothers have been real stalwarts for Mone Brothers over the past four decades. Between them they’ve seen many changes along the way,” says Stephen Horsley, Mone Bros director.

“They’ve driven noisy, draughty Haulamatic dump trucks; air-conditioned Hino and 661 Scania trucks; Czechleft-hand drive Tatras as well as Magirus 617 Deutz wagons.

“We wish John all the very best for the future. He’ll always be welcome here along with his brothers.”
