6244 Sennebogen’s UK sales and service partner, AGD Equipment, has delivered a Sennebogen 655 HD dragline duty cycle crane to Thomas Armstrong Aggregates based in Cumbria, North West England. Fitted with a 27m boom and two powerful 160kN freefall winches, the dragline duty cycle crane is digging tonnes of gravel every day for the construction materials manufacturer.

A family business established in 1830, the Thomas Armstrong Group continues to progress as a major player in numerous sectors, ranging from extraction, building material using wooden building materials to the transport of goods.

The sturdy design and reliable technology offered by the 655 HD model were said to be key to Thomas Armstrong’s decision to purchase it. For the company’s dragline excavation operation, the 655 duty cycle crane is fitted with an additional slewing gear, which is hydraulically driven using the engine’s 261kW or power. The operator is said to only need 40 seconds for a 90 degree unload cycle.

The 655 HD’s comfortable Maxcab offers the operator a pleasant work environment. An extensive lighting package and cameras ensure Thomas Armstrong’s dragline duty crane operators have the best overview in daily operation. Thanks to a close service network, AGD Equipment can be on site quickly if necessary for maintenance and spare parts supply.
