Keyway Group has invested in its first
The ZW310-6 was supplied by Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK)/(HCMUK) for use in its busy recycling facilities in Durnford, Avonmouth and Gloucester, south-east England.
Late last year the new machine worked on a project at the beach in Weston-Super-Mare. The machine helped to construct the 15km-long track for the biggest event in the UK’s off-road motorcycle racing calendar, the Weston Beach Race.
The ZW310-6 wheeled loader was required to help with the moving and shaping of 200,000 tonnes of sand. It was one of several machines building numerous four-metre obstacles, which were then shaped by dozers and excavators.
The ZW-6 machine is fitted with a standard 4.3m³ bucket and L5 tyres, which are suitable for quarrying and recycling.
At Keyway’s recycling facilities, it is used to transport material from a crusher, as well as for stockpiling and loading up to 100 trucks a day. The company crushes, screens and turns demolition waste, namely concrete and residue, into different sizes of aggregates.
In addition to recycling and the supply of aggregates, Keyway also offers earthmoving, demolition, transport and waste removal services. It ordered 112 new Hitachi models last year alongside the ZW-6 wheeled loader, including mini, medium, short-tail swing and medium excavators.
“The ZW310-6 is reliable and follows in the same pedigree as Hitachi Zaxis excavators,” says Eamonn F McGurk, the family-run company’s founder.
