643 Cemex says it will be retaining its Croatia operations after the European Commission (EC) decided not to provide the necessary clearance to allow their sale to Duna-Drava Cement Kft, a joint venture owned by 674 HeidelbergCement and 6519 Schwenk Zement.

Cemex said Cemex Croatia will continue to serve its customers with high quality products and reliable services. The global cement giant’s Croatian subsidiary operates three cement plants, seven concrete plants, two aggregates quarries and a network of maritime and land-based terminals in Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro.
