Lafarge Cementos to create Environmental Commission

Lafarge Cementos plans to set up a Sustainability Commission in 2012 in its HQ town of Sagunto in Spain. The Commission will look to be a meeting point and channel for dialogue between Lafarge Cementos and representatives from the local population on sustainable environmental development.

725 Lafarge Cementos plans to set up a Sustainability Commission in 2012 in its HQ town of Sagunto in Spain.

The Commission will look to be a meeting point and channel for dialogue between Lafarge Cementos and representatives from the local population on sustainable environmental development.

The company has invited the environmental assessor committee of the local town council for Sagunto to form part of the new body.

The Lafarge Cementos plant is currently in an initial contact phase for potential members of the commission and the aim is to have the first meeting scheduled for the first half of 2012. The Commission will hold at least two meetings a year.
